Union Square Greenmarket

I had the great opportunity last week to tour the Union Square Greenmarket with Forager Johanna Kolodny of the restaurant PRINT. Johanna treated me to an insider’s view of Manhattan’s largest and most competitive farmers market, introducing me along the way to several of her favorite purveyors and farmers.

The Friday morning market was full of summer abundance, including beets the size of my head, delicate golden raspberries, and crayola-vibrant squashes. I can’t wait to apply what I learned from Johanna to my own marketing in Providence. Johanna generously donated this outing to the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance auction, and I was the lucky winner.

I followed up my morning at the market with a trip to The Meadow. More on that later!
